well, if there were problems ungzip'ing and untar'ing the Euphoria tree, better download a fresh copy of tar and gzip :) all i did was untar the tree and set my EUDIR variable and it was up and running. I was even able to copy only the files i wanted to my root account and set the environment variable and it worked, so i don't see why you'd have any probs, except if you're using a non-x86 architecture :) speaking of which, shouldn't robert compile some binaries for the other popular linux architectures like SPARC and PowerPC? of course, he'd have to get his hands on SPARC- and PowerPC-based computers, so that's kind of a setback...
