I hate to admit it, but I programmed in Gee-Dubbleya-Basic (and its
relatives MS Basic Compiler and MS Business Basic Compiler) for a
living a long time back, and I've still got a working GW-BASIC on my
Win ME thing. If you like, send me a copy of the .BAS program by
private mail and I'll see if I can get a plain text version of it 
for you.

encryption wasn't that commonplace back then, and that was just how most 
early BASICs(BASICA, GW-BASIC, AppleSoft BASIC, etc) stored code
