I thought we were not going to get unrequested junk mail from
topica.com. This didn't happen on the old mailing list. I do not
subscribe to the list. Rob why am I receiving this
garbage from topica.com

It's not from topica themselves.
It's from a list owner, acting independently,
who somehow got your address (and my address too).
Just delete the message.
If you want to complain, send the details to
support at get.topica.com
List owners do not have any special ability to grab
e-mail addresses from other lists.

The old list fully exposed all addresses on the Web interface,
and gave anyone, subscribed or not, the ability to
grab the entire list of addresses, just by sending a simple
command to the list server. Some of the junk mail you receive
now could be because of the old list.
