1. Now I found out that to BIND I have to Pay?????

just starting with EU,
i am trying to test this "promessing" development environment, and to test the
capability of this software, i have to pay??
not only nothing works, it is slow,
too much to fix, and i cannot even have an executable editor?

Programs run interpretted without binding.
Binding isn't required to test your program.
Binding is a handy method of distributing to people without
Euphoria installed on their computers.

Comparing VB to Euphoria is like comparing apples to oranges, they are just
not the same fruit.

VB is a compiled language and Euphoria is an interpretive language, although
you can bind the interpreter to the program to make an executable.

With VB you HAVE to pay (and may I say MANY times more dollars) to even get
the language IDE to develope the programs in, I program every day at work
using VB, and beleve me it has it's drawbacks, but then so does Euphoria.

On the other hand, with euphoria you get a free Public Domain interpreter
that you can distribute with your program to allow others that do not have
it installed to run your programs, but if you pay for the registered version
you can create an executable. (And the cost is VERY minimal compared to the
cost of VB).

When I first started using Euphoria several years ago, and did not purchase
the binder, I downloaded hundereds of programs and was able to run them with
no problems using the FREE Public Domain version of Euphoria.

As for the remarks about Euphoria SUCKS!, look at it this way, as with any
thing new you have to learn how to use it. Take the following analogy for
example:

You have been driving a vehicle for many many years that has an automatic
transmission in it. You now decide you want to try something new, so you go to
the car dealer and see this hot new sports car. You run in to the dealer
and ask to take the car for a test drive, they give you the keys and you
get in the car to drive it. Now, this sports car has a 5 speed manual
transmission in it, and you have never drove a vehicle with a manual
transmission before. You do not realize that you have to press the clutch
and place it in gear, then let off the clutch to get it to move.

You set there fiddling with the knobs and gearshift and things in this sports
car, finally, frustrated that you can't get it to move, you tell the dealer
"Man this vehicle really sucks!"

The problem does not lie in the vehicle it lies in the driver. You can easily
turn to someone, tell them EXACTLY what your trouble is about getting the
vehicle to move, and they can explain step by step, how you drive a vehicle
with a manual transimission, eventually you learn how to drive this vehicle.

Now, your outlook about the sports car is "Man, this is the HOTTEST vehicle
ever made, I LOVE it!"

See what I mean?

Later.

The last time I checked VisualBasic wasn't free either.

If you think that's the only problem with VB, you
haven't actually used VB.

Um, no? That statement couldn't be more wrong. The VB "Learning
Edition" is 100% free, my school (ITT Tech) distributes a copy with
our base-level VB class.

    Try this on for size:
    http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/vbasic/

Express is *the* newest version of VB and its 100% free. All I had
to do to download it was fill out some basic contact and usage
information (who am i, what do i do, what am i using vb for)

Let's compare:
Euphoria 2.5 Alpha stage Free (some features removed)
VB Express Beta stage Free (some features removed)

    Hmmmmm......

I hate seeing people knocking VB, its a great tool, and it is free
if all you want to do is learn. But if Microsoft finds out you've been
distributing "Learning Edition" executables (which I'm sure they can
track) then your in some deep stuff. I learned how to program on
QuickBasic 7.1 (which I paid for!) then VB 6 (Learning Edition - from
school) and now Euphoria. VB doesn't suck if you know how to use it,
and neither does Euphoria. Hell, people that know how to use Java
properly seem to make a nice living, and Java sucks! blink

At least you dont have to do that for Eu!
And I don't think VB is cross-platform.

Especilly the author of Nitrous version 2, now written in Java,
and compatible with Firefox...sad
I wonder how much money you could make stealing e-mail addresses,
online accounts, credit-card numbers, and anything else on a computer...?
