So, does anyone here have a newish Mac to test this theory?

I've got a newish Mac at work, but I'm not sure which Windows emulator you're
referring to.

Wine won't run on OS X (yet) because it's a different processor (although the
Darwine project is looking at combining Wine and the QEmu emulator to run on
OS X).

If you're referring to the PC Emulator for OS X, it should run fine, but it's
in a seperate workspace, so it's not quite the same thing.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the question?

Virtual PC. I think that's the one I saw demo'd a year or two ago running
some brand of Windows, and running it very well. Now, this was before
Microsoft bought that company, so who knows what now? ;)

I don't have a copy of that, sorry. However, there was just an announcement
today QEmu just got a patch to get it running a number of OSes under OS X, so
that might also be an option.

I know it's now part Microsoft Virtual Server 2005...

MS even got one of Connectix's programmer's in Aaron Giles
(http://aarongiles.com/) who also currently does much for the evolution
of MAME. Good stuff...
