Hi VEL Friends... Thanks to ALL who responded (sometimes very passionately) to the alleged demise of VELI deeply appreciate the words of encouragement both in this list and to me personally via email. I can assure you that this was no ploy to attempt to find out how many people are using the library or to gain sympathy votes. I simply had serious doubts as to it's value judging by the response I was getting. I now realize that many others are interested in the project without verbally saying so. So... I'm happy to announce: VEL IS BACK!!! I'm currently working on some nice new features as well as fixing a few things that I've read about in my email recently. While I probably won't have a new release ready until late in October (because of another short term committment)... I wanted you to know that I am actively working on the library. Thanks once again for your support... Gary. P.S. Special thanks to Rob and Junko for their kind words of encouragement.

Gary, I'm very delighted that you've reconsidered, and looking forward to new VEL releases. I can understand that you can't and won't spend all your time on it, but you have seen that there are a lot of VEL followers and users, and I'm sure there will be even more, since everyone on this list by now has read about the potentials of it. Tell us a bit more about the features in upcoming version(s) of VEL, please? Glad to have you back, ^ | /-\<| On Wed, 22 Sep 1999 11:31:54 -0400, Gary Dumer <dumer9354 at MY-DEJA.COM> wrote: >Hi VEL Friends... > >Thanks to ALL who responded (sometimes very passionately) to the alleged >demise of VELI deeply appreciate the words of encouragement both in >this list and to me personally via email. > >I can assure you that this was no ploy to attempt to find out how many >people are using the library or to gain sympathy votes.
