Hi,
Do you know about some place where you can place a server for free?
I want my server program written in Eu running at some place with static =
IP address.
I don't need domain name, just IP is enough for me.
I suppose nobody is interested in running somebody's other programs 24h =
a day, which can potentially
contain backdoors and can be a security risk, for free, but if you know =
about such service, please let me know.

Wouldn't multiple server *processes* do the job
in most cases? Each process could create its
own temporary files based on its process id number,
and file locking could be used to control access
to any shared files/databases.

I have CD with RH Linux 5.0.

To install this version, you need 8 M RAM, but it can work in 4 M on a 386

I have CD with RH Linux 5.0.

To install this version, you need 8M RAM, but it can work
in 4M on a 386.

But Eu needs at least *5.2* version Red Hat, it seems.

Your question is very interesting. If I can add some files to update 5.0 to
5.2 I'll set up Linux 5.0 onto my 386s 8M RAM and 4M RAM *immediately*,
with the method of moving HD from 8M machine
onto 4M machine (with *installed* Linux).

Hey, Linux Gurus, help us please !

The first my message was cut in the unstable
radio-channel, but this version is much better
one, I think smile

Our question is -- *what* is the oldest version of RH Linux
that can run Eu. And -- can I update my RH 5.0 (by simple
adding some files) to run Eu.

I want know this before installing of RH.

I can run Eu on MS DOS 3.30 -- yes, works well, as DOS32, on a 386.
I can run Eu on Windows 95 and NT -- oldest Win32 OSs, on a 386.

But what is the oldest and the simplest Linux for running Eu ?

Translator was tested with *ncurses* equal of RH's 5.2 one.

But I have 5.0, not 5.2 just now.

If I need just 5.2 or younger, I'll find 5.2.

And question is -- does 5.2 work in 8M or 16M on a 386 ?

To be or not to be (Linux & Eu on my and Martin's 386) ?
