1. crash procedure
Hi everyone,
Since this thread may determine whether or not the 'crash procedure'
feature
will be included in coming versions of Euphoria, I thought I'd throw in
my
2 cents :)
There's been a couple of issues that have come up concerning this.
"Abuse",
the goto keyword, and other languages come to mind...
In my experience, most of the languages I've worked with have some sort
of
mechanism for running some code when an exception occurs. I think it
would
be a nice addition to Euphoria, especially for larger applications where
the data needs to be saved.
If it is implemented, obviously there's the potential for abuse. But are
we
going to throw a good feature out just because someone can abuse it?
A language should be designed for functionality and usefulness. If it
would
benefit from a certain feature, then by all means add it! In any case,
the pros definitly outweigh the cons for this one IMO.
I seem to recall someone mentioning 'goto' as an alternative(?). Goto is
the
last thing Euphoria needs.
