I hate relying on others, since i get let down with 99% of contacts i have with humans, but since people insist on internet servers being *nix, and apparently the applications Eu hasto interface with on a *nix server will not allow a cursed thing to be done........ How much will it take, in $USD, to get this thing programmed, and delivered to me via email? And what time frame? Kat

This is such an easy thing to do in windoze, in almost any language. I've even done it in mirc5.51. Kat

Well I'm working on some simple proxy code for Linux in Eu, but its very alpha, so its probably not what you want. But if you do want it, I can post it here. jbrown --

This email is to withdraw the $100 offer for the http proxy i need. I don't have one, and no one has submitted one working. Kat

This is another call for the http proxy i NEED. The one submitted still won't work, and i cannot access it to chmod. Now i am told i need ssh, and ssh keeps saying i forgot the password, which i used as the very name of the ssh file, so i wouldn't forget it. Preferrably, Euphoria or Perl or Python. I don't want to be debugging it for you. Name a price. Kat

It can still be used, but its more complicated now. You can still ftp. Would it at all be possible to use a program other than Terrapin to access your euforge account? If not, I do have another solution. You can telnet into my system (since its telnet, not ssh, its trivial to connect), and from there, use my ftp program, which does support chmod I believe. If that still isn't possible, I could attempt to run katprog.exu and the rest of your site under my user there (jbrown). > > Preferrably, Euphoria or Perl or Python. > I don't want to be debugging it for you. > Name a price. You and i have done that, for weeks. I wanted a turnkey solution, but i am debugging an application (written in part by you) on a broken server (orkim's), owned by someone who's email bounces (orkim), with applications which won't run right (the puttygen), on an OS (linux) i don't care for (and don't need to know, and is less stable than my current computer), taking massive time away from the application i want to do (which has nothing to do with OSs, ports, SSH, FTP, telnet, or even the proxy itself) !!! If i can't show anything in the next week, i can kiss this job goodby too. Right now, i am reconfiguring my firewall and code to open a port to do commercial http serving on a freaking dialup, because i can manage *my* computers and win95. I could have done it several times over in the time i have wasted on the linux box. Kat

I noticed that katprog.exu.12-12-2002 is chmod'd fine. If we could copy the text from katprog.exu into katprog.exu.12-12-2002, then rename it back to katprog.exu again, it should stay chmod'd correctly. BTW, I've copied your site over to my user, and with Rob's help, we're trying to debug it from my side. This way, it should go faster and easier. Or so I hope, anyways. ATM i type this, trying to fix 403 Forbidden errors. :{ In the meantime, Keep working on the dialup. jbrown > > Regards, > > Robert Szalay > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: Kat <kat at kogeijin.com> > > To: EUforum <EUforum at topica.com> > > Sent: Saturday, December 14, 2002 1:36 AM > > Subject: Re: http proxy > > > > > > > On 13 Dec 2002, at 22:20, jbrown1050 at yahoo.com wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > On Fri, Dec 13, 2002 at 10:51:46PM -0600, Kat wrote: > > > > > > > > > > This is another call for the http proxy i NEED. However, I could get a server running on Linux in no time, however if I were to try that in Windows, i'd probably end up destroying my computer in rage (no joke, folks). Kat's just used to one OS, and not the other. Its an understandable sort of thing. jbrown > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Kat <kat at kogeijin.com> > To: EUforum <EUforum at topica.com> > Sent: Saturday, December 14, 2002 3:03 AM > Subject: Re: http proxy > > > > On 14 Nov 2002, at 2:29, Robert Szalay wrote: > > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: Kat <kat at kogeijin.com> > > > To: EUforum <EUforum at topica.com> > > > Sent: Saturday, December 14, 2002 1:54 AM > > > Subject: Re: http proxy > > > > > > > > > > On 14 Nov 2002, at 1:40, Robert Szalay wrote: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > The proxy *should* work fine if you chmod the file > > > > > > > > That's what's been said for weeks. And, I convinced him to d/l and install terrapin. He tested it out, and he can chmod fine it would seem ... (He says it has a chmod button. Heh.) Anyways, if you want to give up, choice is yours. I can do Eu fine with *nix on my on comp, but 2 big differences: I never do cgi programs, and I have root access to my machine. The first, I can get around cuz others have done so and I can just learn from them. The second, is the real problem. (If orkim was around, he could habe chmoded for you for example.) jbrown > > > > > ===== --------------- reply to jbrown1050 AT hotpop DOT com please, this is being used as a send-only email address. futhermore, it is being used only temporarily.

I assume you meant "have". Even chmod'd, the last 1/2-way working version of the code did not work with POST forms. It was code you and Robs wrote, wasn't it? Kat

It worked with POST before. 1) It stopped working with POST because of the changes you made to it. 2) Im pretty sure the ftp commands are casE-SensiTivE site chmod 755 /public_html/cgi-bin/katprog.exu != SITE CHMOD 755 /public_html/cgi-bin/katprog.exu ----- Original Message ----- From: Kat <kat at kogeijin.com> Subject: Re: http proxy > > On 14 Dec 2002, at 0:56, jbrown1050 at yahoo.com wrote: > > <snip> > > > According to Rob, it works fine, if you can chmod it. > > Yesterday, i prolly could have. At one point, POST worked and GET didn't,, then GET worked and POST didn't,, etc. I have both working fine on win95 now, and i started from scratch. Other than the error/request email to RobC, which isn't an httpd issue. I want to return the same type of form that was sent to me. > 2) Im pretty sure the ftp commands are casE-SensiTivE > > site chmod 755 /public_html/cgi-bin/katprog.exu != SITE CHMOD 755 > /public_html/cgi-bin/katprog.exu I know. Check it out, Terrapin reports errors in UPPER CASE no matter what you typed. I left irc because all this *nix carp got me so angry. I am now leaving email for the night because i have been typing all day and my knuckles are red and swollen. It's really irritating to see the work over the last weeks be useless on the nix shell. Gnite.
