That is a known problem. My solution was to revert to 2.4.
Robert Craig has partially fixed it, but not fully, so until
it's fully fixed, I won't upgrade.

Things will be much better with 2.5 beta.

Until then, consider downloading the translated/compiled version
of the IDE. See the November 21 Recent User contribution of Aku:
http://www.rapideuphoria.com/ide_c.zip
(Also, Andy Drummond has an ide.exe bound with the 2.4 interpreter).
Just drop ide.exe into your IDE directory, where ide.exw
is stored. It should load and run even faster than using 2.4.

Also, it's a good idea to remove "with trace" or
"with profile" from your program, as well as Win32Lib.ew etc.
These things use extra memory, and could greatly increase the
load time of a large program, on a machine with a small memory.

The run-time and memory used by 2.5 (after parsing) are
both at least as good or better than 2.4. It's just the
initial load time (parsing) of large programs that can be
much slower on old machines like yours, but this will
improve greatly with 2.5 beta. People with newer machines
can barely notice any difference.

Of course, translating or binding with 2.5 will eliminate the
load time for any program, since no parsing is required.

It's not Euphoria that needs upgraded...
You can probably find a better computer for 50$!

I disagree. Of course, you can always tell people to upgrade their
computers. But Euphoria *should* run even on a low-end computer.
It did in 2.4. Why shouldn't it in 2.5? I'm having the same problem
on a p2 300mhz.

I thought he was offering to send the $50! I know people who have $50 per
month to live on in the usa, and that's not so easy.
