Hello All, I came across a new service on Alta Vista today. It might be useful for people on this list who don't know English very well, but know French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish. You just cut and paste some text (such as a message on this mailing list) or type in a URL, and it will translate the text, or the entire Web page for you. The layout and graphics on the Web page are all the same, just the text is in the language that you choose. It's just a machine translation, so I imagine it is pretty bad, but it may be helpful. Just for fun here is my message in Spanish: Hola Todos, Vine a travis de un nuevo servicio en Alta Vista hoy. The translator is at: http://babelfish.altavista.digital.com/cgi-bin/translate? (Note: include the ? character on the end of ...translate) Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software

Not bad, but it garbles all the accented characters. Colin Taylor

(but you can get the idea) I guess it would be useful to some... but I've never seen a transalation utility (this one, Spanish Assistant, etc..) that handles correctly technical words or terms.
