1. DLL's

gidday all...

Today i discovered that Quick View (a wee app that comes with WIN95) can
tell you a lot about DLL's.

Simply right-click the DLL in Explorer, and select Quick View in the
context menu, and it comes up with a heep of info - version number and all
the boring stuff, plus all the enclosed routines ... might be helpful for
someone maybe...?

Happy programming :)

2. Re: DLL's

You can also use Quick View on Exe's and find out what routines they
call (I think)

I don't exactly what you mean by Quick View. My Windows 95 doesn't seem t=
o
have that. But I did find a program called DLLmstr, that displays
information on DLL's and EXE's, version information etc. and which other
routines call and are called by the present one.
I hope you understand what I mean.
It can be found on the net in a shareware version, in compuserve you can
download it via GO SHERIDAN. The file_id follows:

DLL Master 4.1 lists modules in MS
Windows 95 or Windows NT memory, with src
path and filestats. Load, unload, decrement
DLL use count. Multiple lists, compare,
print, save, restore. Version and header
info.

if you go to Add/Remove Programmes in the control panel, then go to the
Windows Setup tab, and double click Accessories in the list, and about
1/2 way down, you will see Quick View (1.6MB). Tick it, go OK, put in
the CD or dick, and bob's your uncle.

-> DLL Master 4.1 lists modules in MS

aye, I had a quick look-see at that too, but had a sudden urge to delete
it :)

Do you really never use the, er, alternative?

For users of WIn95 in Spanish, the "program" is called "Vista Preliminar".
