1. Trace Functionality on Linux

Hello,

It seems the trace screen in an xterm/eterm/konsole doesn't function
correctly. Using key.ex I get:

The key code is: 27
The key code is: 79
The key code is: 80

for the F1 key. This is quite different from the expected 265 key code
I receive in a console. Anyone have a work around? It'd be nice to
have multiple windows open and still be able to use the trace functions.
BTW, it seems only F1 and F2 keys are effected. The other keys work
fine. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Doug Miller

2. Re: Trace Functionality on Linux

Hi Doug,

Have you tried the gnome-terminal? I have experienced
similar multiple key code returns for specific keys in
Konsole, xterm, rsvt as well. Gnome-terminal seems to
work best with me... using a large font.

Interestingly though I could not replicate your
problem - or my previous problems with Konsole now. I
dimly recall fiddling with some Konsole settings ( or
was it elsewhere in KDE/Linux? ) - but now I can't
recall just where!

By the way, a new version of XFCE has just been
released - it is lite and fast! I configured it
to select the gnome-terminal from the main panel
and it works so well -and fast that I have little
need to use the console.
