As those of you interested in the bcd-thread might have guessed from my last post on it, I changed thoughts and am currently redoing it as an ICD-version. For that I thank (and give due credit to) Pete and Ricardo for their remarks and comments. It will still have the capability of importing and exporting BCD. The core however is fully integer-based. Some preliminary timings: (Not including conversion-timings, as they will only have to be done once at start and end of program, when working with ICD for EG accounting) Worst case mul 256digits*256digits: < 1 millisec, real-world case 32d*32d 20 microsec. Add 1000 32d numbers in one go: 225 microsec. Single add 1.5 microsec. Carries taking abt 90/100 and more of all time involved If this speed will be okay I'll do a lib, containing + , - , * , / , pwr and root2. If not up to expectations I'll quit and go on with my 2 major projects. antoine BTW, Kat, did you get my direct post? Why, if so, not replied at least with a 10-4 NTx O+O?

I'm a little taken aback. 2) I have been busy, terrorised even, by assholes burning garbage 24-7, filling my home with smoke. I finally called the sherriff's office again, to get a report made, even tho the property owner has threatened to burn my place down if i complained one more time. See the webpage for more details of how bad Alabama is: http://www.pell.net/warning/burning/burning.html 3) I have been trying to get more of my place done, because i've been working on it for 12 years now, and still have a dirt floor. So i cannot get insurance on it, and will lose 12 yrs of sweat and money if the asshole i mentioned in (2) burns it down,, assuming i survive the fire. I cannot use smoke detectors, i tried, they buzz from the time i put the batteries in until the batteries go dead, there is detectable smoke all the time. It wasn't this way the first few years i lived here. It's after 9pm now, i just came in to watch Bill Moyers on his PBS show "NOW", check on Tiggr (i got 3 requests to loan her out to a Chinese and another Malay channel), answer email, and am going back outside to work on House. So you see, i have been (what amounts to) ignoring you for some good reasons. I haven't written any Eu code in a month or so now. That's how preoccupied i have been. Kat

Hi Kat ref1) Modern cpu's should be able to do it, it's sh.. to do it Urself. Simple equasion/comparison. BCD=sh.. ICD= faster sh.. ICD MOL adapts to input, kindo' liquified behavior, hence d.... ref2) Really that bad? Sincerely commiserating as I'm quite empathic. ref3) Success with House! Ain't there an insurance on property under construction? Have you asked any legit contractor or constructor? Declare House to be an `Eartship`u.c. (dirtfloors allowed), have it appraised, maybe an inscomp will buy the idea. The only thing I hate (besides milk) is being ignored. Being locked out, offended, rejected or whatever is less annoying to me. EUHS antoine. PS Sent to Ur Priv.E-mail as 1) It's totally OFF-TOPIC , 2) Topica †
