Re other post: these lines in pick_best_common() weren't actually in
the version I sent to Rob, they live next to the if length(wschk)=1:
if length(wschk)=2 then rank+=32*32*1024 end if
if length(wschk)=3 then rank+=32*1024 end if
Trust me, it gels when you put them in the right place.
