Hi coders (That is what i should call you cuz its real right),

It all started when i was fed up of Visual C++ 6.0 and started looking =
for nicer programming languages. And suddenly, i found EU at =
cnet.download.com. I belong to a 3rd world country where people hardly =
know what Linux is and what is BeOS. Getting it?? I downloaded a =
"Beginner's Guide for EU" written by David Alan Gay and after going to =
first 11 Chapters I fell in love with this langage but you know what =
happened. Consider this example: You love a girl and she dumps you not =
because she doesnt want you but because of the company that evolved =
around her. In this case EU is the girl and you coders are the company =
that evolved around her. Im not angry on your guys. You are nice people =
but you just dont guide me at all. I ask for explanation and guidance =
and most of you just turn away from me. My mind is blocked at Chapter 12 =
totally. I dont get a damn thing. Who should i call for help. David Alan =
Gay is so bust that he never bothered to make the tutorial easy to =
understand and never thought that such examples could only be taught in =
realtime conversations. Again, i dont mean to be rude with you people. I =
am confused and very angry. Lets see what would be my next programming =
language.

Asif,

Usually, if you don't get an answer, it's because nobody knows! smile

You don't want everybody on the list replying with a "I don't know"
answer... so, if you ask once and get no replies, ask again, maybe even two
more times... Then you'll know for sure. k?

4. Re: Love for Euphoria

Perhaps if we didn't have to dodge all the flames and useless
drivel that is being posted lately, more of us would be more
inclined to check out ALL the posts. But as it stands now, I
myself, will only check those posts which catch my eye. I'm sure
quite a lot of others are of the same mind.
Unfortunately for the newbies such as Asif, that means not
many people are reading their posts. Making them feel as if no
one is even interested in the language itself, but rather
involved the ego battle.
When I have over a hundred msgs in my mail, that aren't even
relative to ME, I'm not going to spend two hours checking all
those msgs

Asif:
Here are the questions you've asked:

EUFuture - answered by Dave Cuny in detail
Tasks - 9 answers by various people
Help - 9 answers by various people
get() - answered by Thomas Parslow
Graphics mode - answered by Brian Broker
Mouse pointer - 2 answers

I'm sorry if those answers didn't help - I'm sure we all thought the
information given here and in the Euphoria documentation would be
adequate for someone already familiar with VB and VC++
and working on his master's in Information Technology, such as
yourself.

6. Re: Love for Euphoria

Dear Asif - I think there are actually some things you can do to get your
questions answered.

I find the newsgroup has been very helpful.

The trick is - you must ask one or two simple questions, clearly stated, and
you will get the answers you need quickly.
Be sure to put the subject of the question in the subject line of your
message.
You will not find a simpler language than euphoria - I promise you that - I
have tried them all.

Don't worry Asif, I'm gonna help you out.
Whatever questions you might have, I will be able to help you out.
What is it at chapter 2 that troubles you?

Hi Asif.

Seeing my name was mentioned in your comments, I figured I should speak =
up.

I believe a lot of people here gave you a great deal of help....and that =
includes myself. I believe I replied to your Emails in both private and =
public, and gave you examples in private of how to use aspects of the =
Euphoria language. I in fact sent you a reply back before seeing this =
message regarding get()

What can I say? While I can't speak for the others you may have =
communicated with, I know I answered your Email as best I could. I'm =
sorry if that was not enough. I'm sorry the tutorial did not help you =
either, though it was my best intention to make sure that it could help =
everyone who downloaded it.=20

My recommendation is to continue trying Euphoria. It is a fine language =
and I've backed it for nearly four years out of my own time and pocket =
with no regrets.=20
