Hi,
I've requested a new project to be established at www.sourceforge.net for
the Win32lib. I've suggested the following as its description...
'The WIN32LIB project provides a set of routines, processes and "wrappers"
that enable developers using the Euphoria language, to access the Win32
API by hiding most of the low-level details. It aims to simplify Windows
Programming without losing any of the powerful features.
Euphoria started as a purely MS-DOS (terminal) based language, but now it
supplies the fundamental constructs required to access Windows DLL files.
Thus without WIN32LIB or similar systems, Euphoria developers must
continually "re-invent the wheel" when doing pure Windows development.
This project handles the housekeeping and low-level Windows work, leaving
the creative stuff for the developer to complete. However, all the raw,
low-level access is still available for the brave.'
The project will be known as "Win32 Library for Euphoria" have the keyword
"win32libex". I've also opted for the "GNU Library Public Licence" (see
http://www.opensource.org/licenses/gpl-license.html for the full licence
text).
I should hear back from the Source Forge Administrators within 24-hours
where or not the application has been approved. I'll then let you know
more about how to start contributing etc...
If you have any concerns about this please let's talk about them ASAP.
cheers,
Derek Parnell
