1. Another Neil question

Hello all,

Due to my recent failure to get vesa graphics running on my
new computer with Neil, I decided to look into Windows
graphics. I looked at exotica but it looks too complicated
for me for now so I went back and looked at Neil.ew. I read
the meager doc file and jumped in to coding. I canabilized
Pretender.exw and modified Win32Lib to NOT use graphics.e
or image.e It seemed ready to work but when I tried setting a
graphics mode it gave me this error:
GetDC:SelectObject failed
If I click Okay, it creates the window I asked for but does
nothing else, if I click cancel, it quits. I tried a few other
modifications but nothing seemed to work. I assume that the
current version of Win32Lib isn't compatible with the current
version of Neil.ew. If either David or Pete or anyone else can
give me any assistance here I'll be very grateful. I think it
odd that there is no demo program for Neil.ew. Was it ever
working?

later,
Lewis Townsend

Sorry, I'm in the dark as far as Neil is concerned.

3. Re: Another Neil question

Hi Guys,

Neil.ew may have worked at one point in time, but apparently it doesn't
work anymore. The reason there are no demo files explicitly for it is
because it was supposed to be possible to change "include neil.e"
to "include neil.ew" to get instant windows support.

Neil2.e will have more robust windows support. I'll be working on it again
as soon as finals & graduation are over. My last final is today
(woohoo!!!) and graduation is on Sunday. If anyone wants to help test
Neil2 as development continues, send me an email indicating your interest.

Thanks,
Pete
