Hi Daniel:

If you are using twisted pair to connect only two PCs, you will need a HUB,
or a "null network"  (crossover) cable, that is considerably cheaper.

You can build one by wiring this:

                 RJ-45a      RJ-45b

Pin 1    RD+   <----- TD+     Pin 3
Pin 2    RD-    <----- TD-      Pin 6
Pin 3    TD+    ----->RD+    Pin 1
Pin 6    TD-    ------>RD-     Pin 2

The remaining pins are not used at all.

The pin numbering is 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 looking at the female plug at the PC
card.

If you can't see it properly with the current font, please cut and paste it
to an editor that supports fixed pitch fonts.
