I don't think I've updated the lib proper, but I've written a booleval.e extension to it to do boolean evaluation. Within the lib, you set and clear variables. If a necessary variable isn't defined, it won't finish evaluating, and it's easy to see, since a fully evaluated statement is either returned as 1 or 0.
