semiotics is the science of human languages, how they work, structure, etc.
I'm just suggesting that there should be an easier way to learn Euphoria.  I
was lost @ a third of the way thru David Gay's tutorial.

Or, a philosophical theory of the functions of signs and symbols. Tokens with 
meaning, like words.

Absolutely right. Semiotics isn't the same as linguistics.

BTW, Umberto Eco isn't "only" a writer, but also a professor for
semiotics.

Interesting that you mentioned him.  I have a first edition english translation
of 'Foucault's Pendulum' in hardcover.  I wonder how far Euphoria could go in a 
simulation of the Pendulum?  Hmmmm, the possiblilties...
