All I do is rename the Euphoria\Backup folder to (say) "Eu2.4 Backup" and then all is well - and you don't lose anything. Or you can go into Backup and creat a folder called Backup and move everything into that so that \Euphoria\Backup is empty but for one folder. But I agree it is a pain if you forget to do something!
