I have to agree, DOS4G(W) stinks. PMODE(W) is better and it's free (I
think). My favourite however, is WDOSX 0.96 (though I've only used it with
TASM). It's free (dunno about commercial products), easy to use, leaves only
a small footprint _and_ it can compress the executables - making programs
smaller (obviously) and harder to disassemble.
But about the DLL support: will WDOSX apps that uses DLLs run under DOS (not
a DOS-box, but _real_ DOS)? If they do then I've really missed something...
