1. RE: One week to go!

Actually, I've been programming professionally for more than 20 years.
(I remember how glad I was to be able to get a 110 or 300 baud dialup
line instead of having to use punch cards). Yes, in that time I have
finished a program or two from start to finish (check out my Sokoban
program, JokoSoko, source available in the archive). What has that got
to do with anything? Robert announced the long anticipated release of
the source code and I'm looking forward to it.

Believe me when I say that deadlines are important, whether externally
imposed or self imposed. Having stated that he is on the verge of
releasing it, further delays can only discourage people who have been
following the discussions here.

However, now it has been more than a week (more than two weeks since
11/15) and just yesterday, 11/22/2001, Robert Craig wrote:

So what's the good word, Robert? Can we get a new date to look forward
to?

OK. That put the release to about 11/30/2001 (seven days from
11/23/2001). I know I prefer not to make changes or announce new
features at the end of the week because immediate identification of
problems can ruin the weekend. So I waited till Monday.

Nothing.

Now it is Tuesday. What's the story, Rob? Can you give us a new
estimate of when 2.3 and the source will be available?

Thanks! I look forward to seeing it. I am hopeful that releasing the
source will enable some of the talented people using Euphoria to help
extend its functionality even more. I'm also looking forward to seeing
the enhancements you've added. You've hinted in the past that you've
worked on including things which you haven't mentioned so as to provide
a bit of a surprise with the release. I'm sure I'm not the only person
who is eager to see it.
