1. WARNING ABOUT VIRUS
A virus commonly called the ILOVEYOU virus has been spreading through the
Internet as an e-mail attachment.
If you received an e-mail with that subject, erase it immediately without
opening the attachment.
Equally important: Similar virus bearing emails, but with different subject
lines, have been circulating. They have the same effect as the ILOVEYOU
virus. The implication is that you could receive an email with an attached
virus from someone you know that has a different subject.
Some known subject lines with viruses attached are:

After reading how even more ILOVEYOU copycat email virii are coming out
every hour, and how they use Visual Basic, and how MS doesn't allow me to
turn it off, i removed all the VB scripting exe, dll, and ocx files from my
puter. Why the extreme move?,, cause one variant of the ILOVEYOU was shown
to execute and trash the harddrives if you even looked at the email in the
preview pane, without opening it or clicking on an attachment. Details on
request, to avoid flooding the listserv.

that's the first email regarding the ILOVEYOU email-virus i receive.
in germany, the tv news warned about ILOVEYOU and one or two days
later they reported ILOVEYOU did infect over one million of computers
(in germany?).
