I've fixed up the bugs that were reported (plus a few things that I found myself), and have posted v0.8.1:

Nice work Matt, I did "bootstrapping" with it and edited some lines in wxIDE to prevent flickering of the file list on the left while typing on Windows.
You can find the patch here: http://openeuphoria.org/pastey/213.wc
Thanks,
Guillermo

Hi Matt
Just tried to install this wxEuphoria.
wxmsw28u_wat_eu.dll
is not in the bin directory.
Cheers
Chris

That's correct. I'm not using Watcom any more. It should be using wxmsw294u_gcc_eu.dll.

I haven't managed to release a translated version with the icon properly set, though it does get set for the application when you run it (interpreted or translated). Due to my graphical abilities, it's not all that great. I basically overwrote the old rainbow euphoria icon with a wx. You can see the source for the icon in wxeu.xpm.
Is there anyone out there with better graphics skills (should be most of you!) interested in designing something more interesting?
Matt

Ask and ye shall receive! How does this look? (I think it looks pretty nice...)

My tactic is to peruse sites like FindIcons or IconFinder for free-for-commercial-use icons (mostly CC or GPL), and then chop them up using IcoFX (the old 1.6 version is still free) until I have something that looks halfway decent. This icon took a solid 5 minutes. I spent more time zipping and uploading than I did chopping and copy/pasting.

Ahhh! Thanks! That's a nice looking icon. Here's what I came up with (it's a bit less generic ):

Looks a bit like the Aptana logo, no?

I think I like something that isn't so similar to the mongoose's color:

Hmmm, I hadn't noticed. I can work with that. What are you using to mock up these images BTW? (I noticed some edges are being cut off.)
Full disclosure: I have Dichromacy (specifically Deuteranopia), so I have trouble distinguishing certain colors in the green–yellow–red spectrum, as well as purple colors. This is why I am by no means a graphic designer or artist (aside from an apparent lack of talent).

I've been using Krita. The edges were probably getting clobbered by me. I've never really used anything beyond the complexity of MS Paint.
I'm not going to tell you stop, but I'm pretty happy with what I have now.

I've never heard it that before, but it looks nice. I'll try it out. I've been finding GIMP a bit too heavy lately.

Well alright then! I was able to find the same (I think?) blue gear icon and touch it up a bit. I think a good size/layout and drop-shadow (and/or "soft" edges) are key to a clean looking icon. It should also scale well (or have specifically-sized versions) and look decent on (nearly) any background color.
