Hello All,
I have been searching all over on how to disable the "Confirm
File Open dialog box" via the registry. I have a file type
I want my users to be able to click on a webpage, and I want that
file to download automatically without showing the dialog. I know
this can be set manually, but I want to set this via my program,
but I have no idea what registry key to alter. Does anyone know?

you will get what you have always gotten.----

You could make it a unique file type and setup the response
to that file type to be handled in a specific way.
May be this article link will help.

Find a file type on your system that does exactly what you
want to do.
Go to View / Folder Options / File Types.
Look at that type of file and click the EDIT button
and you will see the actions window
for example the Streaming Audio / Video shortcut says
open ( in bold print )
play
So set-up your type to do exactly the same thing as the type
you are copying.
Now with regedit you can do a search of the registry.
search for .xxx ( the file extent )
This will give you the locations in the registry and the values
needed to programically set-up file type.

Hi Bernie,
Thanks for trying to help, but I already knew how to setup file types
via the registry. What I was trying to do is setup the file type to download
and open automatically from a webpage, without the user being asked to save
first. The good news is I found out how to do it! It was a 2 step process.
In the registry I had to set the value for both BrowsersFlags and EditFlags
for the file type. And on my server I had to setup the mime type correctly to
tell the user's broswer how to handle the file. Now when a user clicks the
file from my webpage, it launches my app without prompting the users to save.
