As I mentioned before, I'm not talking about bundling an existing editor. Some people are suggesting to bundle a favoured editor or to write one useing a favoured windows/linux lib etc... and Rob has already mentioned the drawbacks on that type of approach. I agree with Jeremy Peterson on a couple of aspects... All we want when we download the Euphoria package is a modern editor. To put it simply just an 'ed.exw' that is all. there were some comments made on the pascal editor wich is still DOS based but pascal is extinct. We don't want Euphoria to suffer the same fate. [OT] I think that even 'freePascal' comes with a windows editor. nb. Also many people are busy suggesting new features, keywords, syntax etc... Remember were not useing Delphi or Visual Basic here. For me the control flow and syntax in Euphoria is just fine how it is. We should devote our suggestions to enhancing the experience and keeping up with modern times rather than compareing or asking for features that are in other languages. [OT] one day soon our variables declared as }}} <eucode> integer </eucode> {{{ will be 61-bit singned (following the current Eu 31-bit legacy). If the develpment of Euphoria is not already heading this way then it will surely die a slow painful death like DOS. Hayden McKay...
