1. windows ver 4.0.0.0 Trace Problem

Using WIN XP HOME EDITION SP3

When trace first starts up the DISPLAY appears like it is a DOS TRACE SCREEN but each
line is skewed horizontally as though each line is wrapping to the next line.
The TITLE BAR appears to be normal length but the text and its background is shifted.

If I do an ALT-ENTER the DISPLAY changes to a true type font in a large WINDOW type
window. This window's length is wider than my DISPLAY.

If I then do another ALT-ENTER the DISPLAY returns to a normal DOS TRACE SCREEN that
looks like NORMAL TRACE SCREEN with no problems.

It sounds like something was changed when dos support was removed or
trace is not being initialized properly.

I also use Windows XP SP3 and I do not have this problem.

The only way it works properly on my system is if I set my
graphics adapter for 1280x1024 60HZ.
I have a Intel Graphics adapter 82945G with ViewSonic VE710b 17" monitor.
Using this desktop setting is pretty hard on my eyes when using other windows programs
although the TRACE SCREEN appears normal full size.
I guess I will just have to live with it since you can't do any thing about it.
Thanks.

I've also been testing this on WinXP SP3, and it's working correctly for me. A few questions:

  • Can you provide the command line that you used?
  • In the console properties (right click on the console to get the properties menu) do you have it set for Window or Full Screen?
  • For normal print statements, what does the console look like?

The trace console is affected by the trace console font settings.
The font console setting may need to be adjusted for the
particular Screen Resolution that your System display is set for.
Thanks Derek and Matt.
