When I open my older dos programs they open in full screen. Before they opened in console window. You could switch them back and forth with hold down [WinKey] & [Enter]. Now it always opens in full screen. If I hit [Win][Enter] it goes to console once. If I hit [Win][Enter] it then goes back to full screen. Now if I hit [Win][Enter] again the screen just goes blank nothing happens. Hitting [ctl][alt][del] does nothing. Hitting the on/off button on computer does nothing. I have to unplug the computer. When I restart it usually the date and clock need to be reset. A big hassle. When I run the program it goes back to full screen,
Now you might say, "Why not [Win][Enter] it to console and leave it there?" Well because if I have restart it. It goes back full screen and this time it won't go back to console unless I restart the computer again.
When I hit [Win][Enter] to switch back and forth I can hear a relay clicking in the monitor every time. But it only switches screens once.
I using: animal.ex, WinXP. Eu ver. 3
What's going on here? Can I program Euphoria to only open Dos programs in console?
Any help appreciated.

I believe that this has to do with graphics changes in the DOS library of OpenWatcom. This was seen in early versions of 4.0, and an undocumented workaround was put in place to fix this.

were you intending to preserve the undocumented status?
I have this in one of the bat files I start eui with and have a forced pause at the end.
no idea if it will help in this case though
set EUVISTA=1 set EUCONS=1

Yes. The workaround does not exist in 3.1.1, and it no longer exists in later versions of 4.0 betas.
