1. EuGTK_4.1.6 - gzip: stdin: not in gzip format

I downloaded the GTK Library for Euphoria 4.0 EuGTK_4.1.6

When I tried to uncompress it with the Ubuntu archive manager, this is what happened.

gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors

I just got a copy from http://etcwebspace.com/users/irvm/EuGTK_4.1.6.tar.gz and it works fine for me.

How are you downloading it? Is the file size exactly 561743 bytes? Is the MD5 sum of the downloaded file f95681f7958c3ce0b338d732de83fb9b ?

Does having it as a zip file work any better? http://malcom.unkmar.com/lostsouls/EuGTK_416.zip

I download it by mouse clicking on it. Is there another way?

The size is 931840 bytes.

md5 says "command not found"

Yup. That worked. Thanks.

That's not enough information to determine what the problem is.

md5 says "command not found"

On unix, the command is md5sum

The size is 931840 bytes.

That tells me that the file, despite its name, has already been gunzip'd.

Simply rename the file to EuGTK_4.1.6.tar and then open it.

The problem was solved with the zip file but anyway...

md5sum gives this number 55aabd7db9356203dad220b2e1b69828 for both EuGTK_4.1.6.tar.gz and EuGTK_4.1.6.tar

Renaming EuGTK_4.1.6.tar.gz to EuGTK_4.1.6.tar worked.

Note: I have upgraded to EuGTK_4.1.7 today; a minor change to allow looping through arrays of controls. http://etcwebspace.com/users/irvm
