1. EDITA for version EU4.0

Is there a version of EDITA that works with EU 4.0, or is someone working on one.

I tried to use the one for EU 3.1.1, but it does not seem to work with some of the EU 4.0 demos, particularly those that use the keyword "NAMESPACE" (i.e. ALLSORTS).

When you get it done, we have a WikiPage for editors. Maybe the Edita link needs updated? Maybe we should start tracking those that support 4.0.

Make sure you set Options/File Extensions to the right

.ex, .exw etc.. the right bin files.

I see where you got it.

I don't know what you use it for.

I don't know why you need it.

I have Edita 0.3.0(30/05/07)

And it seems to work fine with the demos I have tried and all my old Euphoria programs.

The only problem was I had to change few of my old files.

--myProgram.exw 
include myInc.ew 
 
global constant EditText13=Bla Bla 
 
--myInc.ew 
constant EditText13=Some other bla bla 

this works fine with Euphoria ver 3.

Although I wondered why.

With Euphoria ver 4 I get errors.

I have to change all EditText13s in the include file to a different name.

I may be getting a little off topic here but the point is

Edita 0.3.0(30/05/07) works with Euphoria ver 4 beta 2.

At least so far for me.

Based on the error messages I am getting when I try to un-zip the EUPHORIA.SYN.ZIP file using WINZIP 11.2, the zipped file requires WINZIP version 12 or above to do the job in other words the file must have been zipped with version 12 or above and can not be unzipped with anything else!

As for why I am trying to use this more recent version of the EUPHORIA.SYN file, please see the first message in this thread.

When I tried to run ALLSORTS from within EDITA using the existing EUPHORIA.SYN file, I received an error message about NAMESPACE not having been defined. Subsequent responses to my query about this problem in this thread seemed to indicate updating the EUPHORIA.SYS file should solve the problem. That's why I am trying to unzip and use the most recent version of the SYN file.

Sorry, my bad there! I use WinZip 12 and often forget its format is not backwards-compatible with older WinZip versions.

My updated Euphoria.syn adds auto-complete and proper highlighting for Euphoria 4.0 keywords. It's not essential, but it certainly helps when writing 4.0 programs!
