OK. Did the edit link appear on all posts or just your own posts? Can you give me an example URL that led to that problem, for instance, right click the "edit" link, copy the shortcut and paste it here?

I get an "edit" link on all posts. (Because I'm a moderator, right?) If I try to edit your post in this thread, I get the same message. Here is the URL the "edit" link gives me:

.. Ok, I believe I fixed the problem. I do security on the UI, but also on the back end (so people cannot by pass just the UI security). On the front end I was checking for the user role "forum_moderator" and on the back end "forum_admin". So, the edit links were appearing for you, but the back end wasn't letting you.
