Hello,
if I enter ecw -? or ec -? I get these messages:
C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE>ecw -? Usage: ec [-plat win|dos|linux|freebsd|osx] [-wat|-djg|-lcc|-bor|-gcc] [-com /compile_directory/] [-keep] [-debug] [-silent] [-lib /library relative to %EUDIR%\bin/] [-stack /stack size/] [/os specific options/]: OS Specific Options: Windows: [-con] [-wat|-djg|-lcc|-bor] [-dll] DOS : [-djg|-wat] [-fastfp] Linux : [-gcc] [-dll] FreeBSD: [-gcc] [-dll] OSX : [-gcc] [-dll] SunOS : [-gcc] [-dll] LCC Only: -lccopt-off Explainations: -CON : Don't create a new window when using the console. C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE>ec -? Usage: ec [-plat win|dos|linux|freebsd|osx] [-wat|-djg|-lcc|-bor|-gcc] [-com /compile_directory/] [-keep] [-debug] [-silent] [-lib /library relative to 1.279242E-293UDIR\bin/] [-stack /stack size /] [/os specific options/]: OS Specific Options: Windows: [-con] [-wat|-djg|-lcc|-bor] [-dll] DOS : [-djg|-wat] [-fastfp] Linux : [-gcc] [-dll] FreeBSD: [-gcc] [-dll] OSX : [-gcc] [-dll] SunOS : [-gcc] [-dll] LCC Only: -lccopt-off Explainations: -CON : Don't create a new window when using the console.
In the first case should it not be: Usage: ecw ...?
In the second case what does 1.279242E-293UDIR\bin/ mean? (is this because of my Windows Vista?)
Will it be possible to translate with lcc and borland too in Windows with Eu4.0?
I use OpenWatcom 1.7. Should I upgrade to version 1.8?
I translated eu.ex with ecw and got this output:
C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE>ecw -wat eu.ex 59 .c files were created. To build your .exe file, type: emake C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE>emake compiling with WATCOM main-.c main-0.c ... execut_5.c intinit.c cominit.c main.c init-.c linking Warning! W1027: file C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE\ecw.lib(C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE\be_pcre.c): r edefinition of compile_ ignored Warning! W1027: file C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE\ecw.lib(C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE\be_pcre.c): r edefinition of get_re_ ignored you can now execute: eu.exe C:\EUPHORIA\SOURCE>
Eu.exe runs, so the warning messages can be neglected?

Roland,
These are all valid bugs you have found. Can I ask you to do me a favor? We are trying very much to use our bug tracker so that things do not get lost. Can you create individual bug reports for these so that we can work off the bugs one at a time? It really would help us keep track of these and get them done in an efficient manner.
Now, you use 1.7. You should upgrade to 1.8, as it's the current version. Until just yesterday I was using 1.7 as well and we ran into an incompatability problem that Derek found since he was on 1.8. We managed to make it work on both 1.7 and 1.8, but there are differences, so with most things, using the latest is best.

I discovered the help text bug yesterday too, but I haven't committed back the fix yet.

Effective immediately, we are dropping support for Watcom and OpenWatcom.
Thank you,

Roland,
Can you please read Bug Reports and Feature Requests and then report these bugs on the SF.net bug tracker? (The link can be found at the top of this page).
Thank you,
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,
I will try to report on the SF.net bug tracker. But in the moment I have difficulties to build Euphoria on Windows beyond version 1638 although I use the binaries provided by you. Maybe I have done something wrong with upgrading to OpenWatcom version 1.8.
