I think a mistake by hitting reply. Each reply can have it's own subject title, if you want to break off into a sub-thread. Seems Reply was hit here on accident for a totally different thread.

It is not quite unusual to reply to part of a post. The reply actually may fork a new thread, but, since you quoted reply in a thread, your post remains in that thread, even with a different subject like <new-subject> (was: <old-subject>)
Perhaps a fork command in the available list would help. It would
- create a new thread
- create a post, like quoted reply would, in the new thread
- require a subject, and change it into the pattern above with both old and new subjects.
This may help tidy up the threads.
