1. I want to "access the brain-power of hundreds of Euphoria programmers" - WHEN ???

Congratulation, this is a really beautiful forum in comparison to the ones before ... but as long as I can't "access the brain-power of hundreds of Euphoria programmers" it's just worthless beauty!
I'm sure there are many people out there like me that want and need that access, but for months it's unavailable due to the forum beautification.
So, my question to the persons in charge is, when, finally, will we, the EU-programmers, have that access again? And if you can't, why don't you return to the old forum style (it was not that beautiful, but at least it was working), or can't you think of some other solution? Anyhow, help (that is ACCESS) is greatly appreciated.
Regards, Authy

I think he means the search facility.

Chris, I thought it's quite clear what "that one" meant ...

Not really.

Hi
I checked, there is no "that one" in your original post. But actually I toatally agree with you, there was a search facility that appeared for a short time, but it dissappeared after the last security (?) scare, and hasn't reappeared yet. I agree it is a thoroughly useful tool(thats how I found who did the freedos repository), and I'm hoping it will come back in due course.
Cheers
Chris

OK, apparently it wasn't clear enough, so if I you would pls. goto http://rapideuphoria.com/listserv.htm
This option is "Temporarily not available - sorry"; me too sorry - because I found this function extremely helpful. Evrytime I didn't know a solution to a programming problem I searched here. And often I found help, without bothering other EU-programmers with stupid beginners questions or questions already answered a couple of times ... so, again, when will this function possibly be available to us?
Regards to all, Authy

You can type: site:openeuphoria.org foo, in google to find out everything we know about foo.

Hi SDPringle, thanks. I tried "site:openeuphoria.org foo" and, that's true, it gave me some results, but it seems only new ones.
Type, f.e., site:openeuphoria.org "URL Creation Problem" and it gives you two results and when you try to see them, they do not exist, neither real nor in google cache.
While from the old search option I got (saved in my firefox scrapbook) 17 (real!) messages as result.
I know, there's much more brain-power hidden somewhere ... and it would be nice, or I tend to say obligatory, to access it finally again.
So, anybody out there another guess, or even some working ideas?
Greatings to all who read this, Authy

As a matter of interest, until Search is reinstated, could we have the google search code attached to the existing Search button?
Bruce.

Google have not indexed the whole new euforum. Somewhen I discussed this with Jeremy at chat. You can't simply put +30.000 threads on the web and wait that the search engines will index everything now!
You must to create a sitemap or at least a simple html page pointing to a lot of the threads. This will give more chances to each page to become indexed.
Will be great a calendar page pointing to the first message each month...

I'll see what I can do.
Maybe I can get the old search working (at least for the old messages, prior to July 2008.

Hi Rob, as I said before, (your) help is REALLY APPRECIATED!
If the old search would be reinstalled it would be good for everybody: everyone with a question can see if it hasn't been answered (a couple of times) before; as a matter of fact, I think everybody should be obliged to look there before creatinf a new thread ... to save time and power for new and more important things.
Thanks again for your cooperation, Authy

I've reinstated the search facility. It runs on RapidEuphoria.com
Unfortunately, some older data is not there, due to some minor formatting problems.
I don't want to spend much more time on it, because in the long run someone (probably not me) needs to set up a proper search on the new message database.

I'll see what the new Creole parser does w/the new EUforum (has search) this evening. I am just afraid of creating another process that takes 100% CPU usage in a endless loop (what happened last time when openeuphoria.org was temporary suspended). I'll compile/install and watch w/top for a while and see what happens.
