1. What is the license for Andy Cranstons BCForms?

Hi, everybody! I made a program with Andy Cranston's BCForms include file, and I copied snippets of his included demo program into my program, and I was wondering if that was OK, or was it breaking his copyright? I cannot find a copyright notice or license in his whole package. It says I can modify them in one of the files, but if anyone can give me more information, that would be great! -Thanks, and Jesus loves you!

Back in 2004, I submitted an extension to BCF called Coloured Character Forms, and asked Andy about how we'd release it. I couldn't find his email reply, but remember he was simply glad someone was interested to his lib to the point of extending it. And I haven't seen him around for a long time.

So:

  1. email him, mentioning the library in the Subject field of the email. Antispam filters are good at shunning unexpected emails.
  2. If no reply, I honestly think that using the examples, with explicit mention of who wrote the code, is ok.
  3. I don't think I changed any licensing terms in CCF, and using the code with due credits is ok with me if you choose this variant.

Howevr, CCF uses a technique of conditional including that no longer woked once Eu 2.5 was out. Due to the lack of feedback, I didn't update CCF, so you may have to edit it a little to overcome this issue. Basically, it includes conapi.e if Windows is detected.

Thanks for the reply! Do you have his email?

I just checked some of his contribuions in the archive, and noticed he had not given any, relying on EuForum for bug reports and other feedback.

The last valid address I have is andy hat systemzone doubt freeserve doubt co doubt uk , but this is very, very old and possibly obsolete. His latest contrib was submitted in 2007.

As A. Cranston is listed as having made a port of Euphoria to some flavour of Unix, perhaps Rob has more recent information, or just as stale.
