Just a little suggestion instead of "Message List" and "Subject List" (which like someone else pointed out mean almost the same thing) how about "Thread View" and "Message View"?
Then again I'm kinda confused by the difference between "Flat View" and "Thread View" on the Message view page.

The "View Thread | Single" is only printed once at the top, if someone is viewing the the whole thread. Only the navigation and reply options are repeated for every message. "View" is not highlighted as part of the URL.

Most forums have something like this: code

At the top of the page that shows a "path" to where you are in the discussion.

Here are the different views we have by their current name and what they do:
- Threaded List - Show a list of threads available for reading on EUforum
- Subject List - Show a list of messages by subject (not grouped) for reading on EUforum
- Message View - View just a single message
- Thread View - View an entire thread, nested. The order is based on a family tree, not date base.
- Flat View - View an entire thread, not nested. The order is based on date not which message is in reply to another message.
I agree whole heartedly that we need real names for the above views. I am open to suggestions that make all the above clear and/or comments on the above views.
