Ahhh, now I see the problem. Originally Irv gave the old address for the
List Server. So if 'anything' tried it, it wouldn't have worked.
This is the correct address for the list server:
>To leave the list, send an e-mail message to:
> LISTSERV at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU

Also keep in mind that you need to send the mail from the email account
which is receiving the messages.
