Sounds like your problem is that your not naming your programs
correctly, they must all end in either .ex (for dos programs) or .exw
(for windows).

Checkout Arachne for a DOS based web browser, it probably does email
as well (or at least web mail:), haven't really used it myself (just had a
quick look):
