Not quite. We were actually talking about language design, so the main focus here is on the language itself, e.g. whether or not it should have certain features, and how those features define/constitute the language identity/philosophy.

Hopefully the language author is driven by logic and reason, and not just his own ambition for the language.
Of course, no one here is questioning the developers' motivations.
