I beleive that with the built in ability to create machine code that Euphoria has, you could have it implant a virus into a users machine, with them not knowing what was going on, I have often wondered when I download some of these examples, what is the machine code that is in them doing? The virus wouldn't appear until you ran the example program. Fortunately Rob looks them over before they get posted on the Euphoria mailing list. But with the ability to attach to a .dll and use it, what is the chan ce that a virus can kind of crawl down the link and attach itself into the euphoria code? I guess it would have to move on when the program shuts itself down. I have seen at least one virus scanner that actually shows you the code to the virus that it is detecting, but the way virus's are growing, I don't think it is any big deal to create one anymore, are there not better ways to spend your time than re-doing what huge company's have spent whole divisions worth of money fixing? Just a thought. I think people on this list do not want to discuss virus's because it brings to the fore, thoughts like those in the first several lines of this letter. Besides, I beleive that C is a more likely language for Virus's because there are many more C programmers. Monty in Oregon
