From: Lewis Townsend >Does anyone know of a shareware or freeware paint program that will save >images in GIF format (or at least a format that I can use on my >website)? I am thinking of adding images to my webpage; especially my >Balenfaire page. Also I am interested in a 3D graphics utility for my >game and both of these would need to be small anough to fit on a disk so >I can take it home from work For graphics, I'd recommend Paint Shop Pro, it's the best, but it is huge. Neopaint is much smaller, (I think it fits on a disk), runs in DOS (and is capable of anything from CGA to SVGA) but has less features. It does have excellent gradient fills though, IMO. For 3-D rendering, Pov-Ray is excellent. Extremely powerful, freeware, ported to several platforms, all sorts of add-ons and shells are available depending on what you want to do with it. ------ Also, my e-mail address is once again Falkon1313 at aol.com, as of now. Just to let everyone know. :)
