Try getting developer's packs from several sound card companies. Sound
Blaster has one for the fm chip as well as their EMU chip for wave table
midi.
As for MOD check any Amiga sites around.

As for line noise on a Sound Blaster card try turning down the input gain
and moving the card to the furthest slot away from power supply. Also
make sure that mic is the right impedance. (600 ohm for SB). AWE64 Gold
has better signal-to-noise ratio anyway.
