------=_NextPart_000_0010_01BE44C9.38188980 charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, I have consistent crashes when trying to execute EXW of euphoria = v2.1(a)=20 be it the licenced or public domain versions. Even the "winwire" demo = fails with this error dump immediately, even though "with trace" and "trace(1)" = are the first=20 inserted statements : EXW caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:ffffffff=20 Registers: EAX=3D00000001 CS=3D015f EIP=3Dffffffff EFLGS=3D00010246 EBX=3D00000022 SS=3D0167 ESP=3D0056fd14 EBP=3D0056fe2c ECX=3D00000004 DS=3D0167 ESI=3D0041e9b8 FS=3D2dc7 EDX=3D0000003c ES=3D0167 EDI=3Dffffffff GS=3D0000 Bytes at cs:eip: stack dump 0040101a 00405a4f 00000002 00000000 004002d3 00000022 00418577 00400000 00000000 00580222 0000000a 00560000 00000000 00000000 00000001 00000000 -- end of dump. This happens on my PII-300 with 64Mb under WIN98 after FDISK / reinstall of WIN98 + euphoria v2.1 alpha licenced. This somewhat drastic step was done to try and ensure that the machine was vanilla. I still have euphoria 2.0 /win98 on another old machine which runs fine. I especially wanted my beloved editor "WEE" (thankx PeteE + DavidC) to work but this fails on my new machine. Okay, so I bound WEE on my old machine and I am able to execute it fine when I reference it over my ethernet, but the same WEE.EXE fails=20 when copied to a local (c:) drive!? this time with: The instruction at 00000009 referenced memory at ffffffff the memory could not be read from A BOUND executable fails? Wierd stuff.. I don't know ASM so without ex.err I am stuck. Anybody get similar problems or have suggestions? Sorry for the long post but it is better than not being exact, I hope = ;). ------=_NextPart_000_000A_01BE44DB.881A3CA0 charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I've created a debug version of exw.exe called exwd.exe I won't bother to put it on the Web site with HTML,=20 but you can download it from: =20 http://homepages.infoseek.com/~fileseu/exwd.zip =20 =20 There's a small README file with it. It may crash as well, but it will produce a file, "debug.log" in the current directory. Send this log to me (rds at msn.com). Thanks to GrapeVine and Pete Eberlein for sending debug.log files. Your files were identical, so it looks like the same problem happens on both of your machines. The logs point to a particular routine that is called during the initialization of Euphoria, long before it starts executing any code. I've updated exwd.zip to help me pin-point the statement in that routine where the crash occurs. I invite anyone who is seeing exw crash to download the new exwd.zip and run exwd.exe in place of exw.exe. Send me the "debug.log" file and let me know of any error messages on your screen. You can get exwd.zip from: http://homepages.infoseek.com/~fileseu/exwd.zip Thanks, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://members.aol.com/FilesEu/
