Hi Bernie,this uncompatibility between FAT32 and 16 could be a problem
to the whole system? My old drive was formated 4 years ago with dos
6.20.Would it be a good idea to reformat the drive with and newest
version and then reinstall the OS?
when i'm going to create a partition on my new drive and asks me if I
want to enable 'Big disk system' shall I response 'yes'? The default is
'No',but fdisk reports that it's a more eficient system to use >2.1GB
hard drives.There's a problem with this system:the drives are not
recognized by other old operative systems like dos 6.2x,windows NT <4.0
and even some old Windows 95 versions...

I've think i've located the conflict in my windows booting.My bootlog
hidden file makes reference to two 'unable to load' files:ebios.vxd and
mrci.vxd. I seek them through all my drives but there's no sign of them.
Could they have some relation with the error that appears with a
'normal' boot session? :'when loading device IOS: windows protection
fault.'(and the computer hangs)

First make the new drive the first physical drive on your system ( master )
and the old drive the second physical drive ( slave ).This is done by
setting the jumpers on the drives correctly.

Even if you reformated this drive it will still be fat16 because of its size

If you answer yes the drive can be partition into a single drive of 6gigs.
or any size up to total drive. FAT32 and the cluster size will be 4k bytes.
If you answer no you will be limited to partition size of 2047k and half
to divide the drive into 3 partions. FAT16 and cluster size would be 32k
bytes.
what does cluster size mean ? Well if you save a 1k file it will take up
a cluster. 4k on fat32 or 32k on fat16 so you save space on a fat32 because
of smaller cluster sizes.
If fdisk is asking you the yes/no question then the operating system you
are trying to install is a FAT32 operating system.

Are you trying to use all of these operating systems on the same system ???
Describe exactly how you want to configure your system and what operating
system you want to use.
