1. Mailing List/Newsgroup

Hi everyone,

There was some talk not long ago about making a separate mailing list
because this one was starting to flood peoples email boxes with messages
that they weren't interested in. While there has been perfectly good
euphoria newsgroup that hasn't had much use : alt.lang.euphoria

So if people don't want to be flooded with email, as this mailing list
continues to grow, then I offer 3 solutions:

1. Unsubscribe to the list, and just use the web version.
This only requires the individual to do this if he/she is annoyed with
the amount of email they are getting.

2. Get everyone to start using the newsgroup instead of the mailing list.
This requires the cooperation of everyone on the list to start sending
to the newsgroup instead, and most likely some people
would prefer getting the messages sent straight to them.

3. Set up the mailing list to send any messages it recieves to the newsgroup
    and vice versa.
This is would make it possible for people to use either the mailing
list, web list, or newsgroup. And the mailing list could possibly even
be
set up to create newsgroup threads.

What do you think? Any other ideas?
(I'm voting for option 3)

One word: SPAM.
Do you really want hundreds of e-mails from 45-year-old
"teenage cheerleaders" who want you to visit their web sites?

I don't like newsgroups, either.

4. Re: Mailing List/Newsgroup

It would seem that option three (posting all e-mail
stuff to the newgroup and vice versa) would only increase
the amount of stuff received in our e-mail addresses. At
the least it wouldn't help much. For me, just the newsgroup
isn't good either, because I get my internet through my local
library and Usenet is locked out.

5. Re: Mailing List/Newsgroup

Hello,

I don't want to anger anyone who disagrees with me but I
thought that I would put in my two cents on the subject
of the mailing list:

I am completely satisfied with the current situation even
though I do get a lot of mail. However, I would not
welcome extra mail from a newsgroup, nor would I particularly
want my postings to be sent to one. If someone wishes to
start another list, I will not object, but as for me, I will
stick with this one.
