* I know BASIC stands for Beginners' All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code.

Here are some acronyms I get from a mailing list I subscribed to on
November 16, 1996:

PCMCIA      People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms
ISDN        It Still Does Nothing
APPLE       Arrogance Produces Profit-Losing Entity
SCSI        System Can't See It
DOS         Defunct Operating System
BASIC       Bill's Attempt to Seize Industry Control
IBM         I Blame Microsoft
DEC         Do Expect Cuts
CD-ROM      Consumer Device, Rendered Obsolete in Months
OS/2        Obsolete Soon, Too.
WWW         World Wide Wait
MACINTOSH   Most Applications Crash; If Not, The Operating System Hangs

Searching through my tagline files, I found:

RAM   Rarely Adequate Memory
COBOL: Completely Obnoxious Because Of Length
COBOL: Completely Obsolete Boring Old Language
MODEM: Monumentally Overpriced Data Eating Machine

I have plenty more too... But those are the last of the acronyms.
