Thats's right. It's CHRISTMAS holidays, not "winter holidays" ----- Original Message ----- From: Euman <euman at BELLSOUTH.NET> To: <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Sent: Monday, December 11, 2000 8:10 PM Subject: Re: offtopic: christmas holidays > Have Fun, Be Safe. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: cense <cense at MAIL.RU> > To: <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> > Sent: Monday, December 11, 2000 10:50 PM > Subject: offtopic: christmas holidays > > > Im out for christmas holidays to europe tomorrow. Not everyone celebrates CHRISTmas so it is politically correct to say Winter Holidays. ----- Original Message ----- From: Liona Kerslake <paulk at UNISERVE.COM> > Thats's right. It's CHRISTMAS holidays, not "winter holidays" >

True, but the general population adopted it, thus it's origin should be preserved. If Ramadan was adopted, would it's name be changed? As far as the actual days off go, they are based on Christmas. ----- Original Message ----- From: Euman <euman at BELLSOUTH.NET> To: <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2000 3:47 PM Subject: Re: offtopic: christmas holidays > Not everyone celebrates CHRISTmas so it is politically correct > to say Winter Holidays. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Liona Kerslake <paulk at UNISERVE.COM> > > > Thats's right. Imo, the government should stay out of religion, and there should be no legal holidays. And btw, the xtian xmas holiday is based on the ancient Mithra religion, and a couple other religions, which chose the same days the xtians came to use. To me, the winter celebrations have nothing to do with christianity,, the festivals and celebrations existed long before xtianity existed. Like you said, lets go back to the origins and forget CHRISTmas. Okay, sorry. But, there's a little zeal in all of us....... Anyway, I see the logic in Winter Holidays (I don't actually think it sounds that bad). But, I am in a bias opinion so my statements are not totally agreeable. I say, nuts to what you call it. Christmas or Winter holidays are a time for cheer and good fun.......lets leave it to that. - Merry anything! No my dear friend , I live in South Africa . Its hot . Very hot . And my behind is wet of all the perspitration . Sorry for my spelling (real sorry). To rest of Euphorians : Christmas is the day that Christ was born . That makes it a religious holiday ( My religioun ) . Blessing to all . At times i don`t love you all (joke) but Jesus said that we must love all so I`ll at least try to this Christmas . You spell Christmas with a capital letter . Ahh how I envy the Aussies. Being in in a wheelchair I have a very hard time doing anything in the ice, and snow we get in Indiana, and things like caroling, and checking out light displays are impossible. Of course if I lived there I gripe about not being able to go see 4th of July fireworks in the middle of their winter. ; ; ; ; Okay, I know it's an American holiday, chill [8=) Check out my photo album http://photos.yahoo.com/alvin_ka9qlq
