With the speed of today's systems, CPU utilization from winmodems is negligable. As far as D/Ling the wrong driver: the driver shouldn't install if it doesn't find the right hardware. If it does, then it's the fault of the manufacuturer's driver, not Microsoft's. If you force it to install, then it's your own fault.... -- Brian
